Musical heroes are many, but include Aaron Copland, Claude Debussy, Sergei Prokofiev, Ottorino Respighi, Toru Takemitsu, Jehan Alain, Joseph Schwantner, Steve Reich, Boards of Canada, Extol, Van Halen, and Rush.

Biography:

David earned Bachelor of Music (magna cum laude) and Master of Music degrees from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and later completed doctoral coursework in music at the University of Oklahoma. He has performed with orchestras across Virginia (Shenandoah Symphony, Waynesboro Symphony, Charlottesville Symphony at University of Virginia), Oklahoma (Oklahoma City Philharmonic), and Arkansas (Fort Smith Symphony). David has also enjoyed many performances as percussionist with the James Madison University Brass Band and the Massanutten Brass Band, including successful performances at past NABBA Championships in Little Rock, Raleigh, and Louisville.

Brand-new to Missouri, David lives in Festus and plans to marry his lovely fiancée, Miriam, in October 2019. He is excited to join another fine ensemble in the St. Louis Brass Band and looks forward to a season of great performances!
