Biography:

My name is Dan Leonard and I have enjoyed playing music all of my life. I started playing at the age of 12 and have been playing ever since now about 44 years. My principal instrument is the trumpet. Although on special occasions I have played French Horn. I have participated in many types of music ensembles in many different cities throughout the years. Music always gave me a way to integrate into a new community. I have played in Jazz Bands, Concert Bands, Marching Bands at the High School and Collegiate levels. In college I was a member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity. I have participated in many Community Concert and Jazz Bands over the years. Here in St. Louis I helped start a Brass Group at Arlington United Methodist Church back in the 1990s as well as playing in Meramec Community Band, Washington University Jazz Band, Town and Country Symphony, and the Alton Municipal Band.
