Occupation: Trumpet Instructor at the Community Music School of Webster University, Manager of City Music & Education Center.

Mentors/Musical Heroes: I grew up listening to Maynard Ferguson, Bud Herseth, Louis Armstrong, and Miles Davis, so I consider them my trumpet heroes.  Currently I love listening to Roy Hargrove and Chris Martin.

Favorite Brass Band Piece: Variations for Brass Band by Ralph Vaughan Williams

Trumpet Performance, University of New Mexico; B.A. Music, Truman State University; former substitute player, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra; San Juan Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony; former member Nomads Brass Quintet, University of New Mexico Wind Symphony; trumpet fellow, Hot Springs Music Festival; educational brass coaching in Albuquerque, NM; occasional performances with St. Louis Philharmonic, St. Louis Wind Symphony; former instructor, Hummingbird Music Camp; national brass finalist, Music Teacher’s National Association Young Artist Solo Competition. 

Brian lives in South City St. Louis (near Ted Drewes) with his wife Kathy who is the orchestra teacher at the Waldorf School of St. Louis, 2 year old Alice, dog Mollie and cat Daisy.
